The Overlord is a common archetype in fantasy tales. You know him as the evil villain with a horde of minions. He lives in a dark tower and regularly takes to the countryside to torment villagers. He rules over his domain, destroying or subjugating all those who stand in his way.

In Overlord , you control four different types of minions, each with their own special skills (fighting, ranged attack, stealth, healing). The gameplay of Overlord revolves around the interaction between the minions and their environments. They battle enemies, plunder gold, break objects, equip armor and weapons they find and generally be evil little buggers. By contrast, the art direction and tone are light and colorful. Familiar fantasy characters are recycled for comedic effect.

Along the way you can upgrade your tower, fill the treasure vault, abduct servant girls from a nearby town, forge weapons and battle monsters in the dungeon. A sequel, Overlord II is being developed.
